A plant has two noise issues: the machine that is too loud, and the people who have to work beside it. Most plants solve them with whatever fits the gap left on the floor, and pay for it in space, access for maintenance and heat trapped around the machine. Machine builders face the same issue one step earlier, when a quieter product is what wins the order.
