Quieter lines, without walling them in.

Transparent and lightweight barriers, ground-vibration modules and train insulation, in service with Deutsche Bahn.

The constraint

Europe is fitting thousands of kilometres of line with noise protection this decade. Germany alone plans around 3,250 km of barriers by 2030. Every one of those kilometres meets three objections: the weight and cost of concrete and mineral wool, residents who do not want a wall where the view used to be, and the vibration that barriers do nothing about.

What we supply

In service

Deutsche Bahn

Five years of joint development. MetaWindow taken from concept to series production and certified for the German network; first installed on the Hamburg S-Bahn. Deutsche Bahn built its Silence Innovations programme on the work. MetaVibration tested in Elze, with 5 to 8 dB less vibration at every measured distance.

Why it matters to a rail buyer

01

Certified for the network, so it can go into a tender.

02

Transparent where planning consent is the real obstacle. Deutsche Bahn expects total construction costs to be comparable, because see-through barriers win approval faster.

03

Lighter panels mean lighter foundations and faster installation on possession windows.
